FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Everything you need to know about our services, how we work, and the cybersecurity solutions we resell.

What types of projects does Olimar take on?

Olimar works across three areas: custom development (web applications, business platforms, mobile apps, API integrations), applied AI (assistants, automation, generative AI woven into your workflows), and managed cybersecurity, as a reseller of the Secuaas solutions. We focus on SMBs that want tools that actually work — not just demos.

Which solutions does Olimar resell?

Three products designed and operated by Secuaas, which Olimar resells and supports locally:

SecuScan — the assessment: it maps your external attack surface, scans your assets for vulnerabilities and analyses your application code. You get a prioritized report showing what an attacker would see, and what to fix first.

SecuAI — sovereign artificial intelligence: an OpenAI-compatible API whose models run in Québec, with optional anonymization of personal information. You use AI on real data without sending it abroad.

SecuSIEM (beta) — the memory: it centralizes logs from across your infrastructure, applies detection rules, triages alerts and retains the history for your audit needs.

What does “beta” mean for SecuSIEM?

It means the product is live and operated in production, but its scope keeps widening: new detection rules, new connectors and new dashboards land regularly.

In practice, access is offered to a limited number of organizations on preferential terms, and your feedback shapes what comes next. We agree in writing on the scope, the known limitations and the service expectations before starting — no unpleasant surprises.

How do I access the client portal?

The Olimar client portal is reachable from the “Client portal” button at the top of every page. That is where you subscribe to a product, track your usage and AI credits, and consult your invoices.

Your credentials are provided when your account is opened. If you don't have an account yet, get in touch — we'll set it up with you.

Do you work with SMBs? Is there a minimum size?

Yes, SMBs are our core market. There is no minimum — we work with businesses of 5 people as readily as with organizations of 200. What matters is a real problem and the will to address it properly. Reach out and we'll discuss your specific situation.

Where is data hosted?

Olimar's infrastructure runs on dedicated OVH servers located in Canada. Your data stays in the country. Canadian hosting is a non-negotiable baseline for us, especially in the context of Law 25 / Quebec's privacy requirements.

The same holds for the products we resell: SecuScan, SecuAI and SecuSIEM data resides in Québec (OVH Beauharnois) by default — including the inference of SecuAI's sovereign AI models.

One exception: transactional email delivery goes through Resend, whose servers are in the United States — this transfer is disclosed in our privacy policy.

Are you Law 25 compliant? Can you help us comply?

Yes. Law 25 compliance is built into how we work: data minimization, hosting in Canada, explicit consent, and a published privacy policy. We don't just talk about it — we apply it to our own infrastructure.

To help you, we can assess your current posture, identify gaps, and guide you through the required measures (registries, processes, policy). A dedicated solution for Québec SMBs is currently in development.

How does a typical project unfold?

An Olimar project follows four stages:

1. Discovery (1–2 wks) — Scoping meeting, needs analysis, scope definition, and proposal.

2. Design (1–3 wks) — Technical architecture, wireframes or prototypes as needed, validation before build.

3. Build (varies) — Iterative deliveries with regular sync points. You see progress as it happens.

4. Deployment and handover — Go-live, training if required, documentation. Overall timelines range from a few weeks (targeted integration) to several months (full platform).

Do you build mobile apps too?

Yes. Our business platforms come with a mobile app when field teams need one — drivers, technicians, sales reps. We build them with React Native (Expo), which shares the same code between Android and iOS and lets us ship a test APK quickly.

That is the case for our food-distribution management platform, whose Android app rides along with the drivers: the day's route, barcode scanning, customer signature on delivery, and product returns reported with photos. See our work.

Do you offer support and maintenance after delivery?

Yes. The relationship doesn't end at delivery. We offer support and maintenance agreements tailored to each project: updates, fixes, improvements, and infrastructure supervision for hosted clients. Terms are agreed at proposal time — there's no one-size-fits-all package.

How do I get a quote?

Easy: fill in the contact form and choose the subject that matches your need (custom project, SecuScan, SecuAI or SecuSIEM). You can also write to us at info@olimar.ca. We take the time to understand your situation before proposing anything.
